53% Merlot 27% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Cabernet Franc 10% Petit Verdot
K de Kirwan is the second wine from château Kirwan, a 3rd Grand Cru Classé. It usually comes from the younger vines of the domain. The grape composition consists of 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 53% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. Naturally, the same attention is paid to the care of the vineyard and the vinification process. After fermentation, this K de Kirwan receives a maturation of 16 months for 15% new oak barrels (Allier). With a beautiful deep red color, this wine immediately seduces you with an aroma of ripe black and red fruit such as cherries and berries. A fine wood touch completes this nicely. On the palate it is a lively wine with a pleasant roundness, some greasiness and in the end a nice spiciness. A wonderful Margaux that is at its best between its third and seventh or eighth year. Pour it at 17 to 18 degrees with ostrich steak, beef, beef tenderloin and all sorts of game and poultry.
