Barolo Boscareto Docg 2019

Region:
Grape Variety:
100% Nebbiolo
Tasting Note:
The 2019 Barolo Boscareto is one of the most beautiful, expressive wines I have tasted from Ferdinando Principiano. Bright acids and veins of tannin shape this aromatic, nervy Barolo. There's more than enough depth to play off the wine's youthful austerity. Orange peel, sage, mint, tobacco, cedar an crushed red berry fruit fill out the layers. What a gorgeous wine this is. Tart, somewhat dried-vegetable and nutty scent with a hint of olives, aubergines and tomatoes, restrained berry tones, mushrooms, undergrowth, iodine, rust and a touch of tar. Quite firm, still rather undeveloped, tart fruit, nutty, somewhat barrel-woody and again moderately tomatoy tones, sandy tannin and some bite, good persistence, earthy and mushroomy notes, a hint of aubergines, peppery and salty hints, a little smoke, very good, if still slightly brittle finish with quite complex spice
