Tasting Note:
Les Caillottes comes from the name of the soil composed of flint and limestone pebbles, sheltering the young vines of the estate. The maturities are pushed to their maximum potential in order to obtain smoothness and a tender side to the wine. Aged for 8 months in casks, Les Caillottes is a complex wine of great finesse. There's a gentleness to the 2020 Sancerre Caillotttes and a sensation of sweetness despite its evidently being a dry white. Open, seductive and textural, it offers delightful floral characters and ripe fruit. There's a touch of alcoholic warmth on the finish, but that’s nitpicking.
