Tasting Note:
The 2018 Gewurztraminer Furstentum Grand Cru "Vieilles Vignes" impresses on the nose with a pronounced minerality that gives it something smoky and stony. With a little oxygen contact, the beautiful fruit and floral notes emerge. Pineapple, grapefruit, mango, lychee and passion fruit shake hands, so to speak, and are complemented by rose and acacia blossoms as well as cardamom, star anise and curry. On the palate, it reveals itself with a creamy and elegant sweetness, accompanied by the intense fruity notes of the nose and a stimulating acidity. The whole is supported again by the striking and intense minerality. A wine that lacks any heaviness and is wonderful to drink while being very youthful and refreshing.
