Tasting Note:
Amarone, classic wine from the Valpolicella region, is a new, exciting venture for the Pieropan family. It comes from the desire to test our skills with the Valpolicella zone, which though a neighbour of Soave, is very different and completely unique. It stems also from the desire to make a top red wine, both rich and structured, but also elegant and fine in line with the whole Pieropan range. Pieropan Vigna Garzon 2016 Amarone Della Valpolicella is fragrant with ripe dates, dried cherry, chocolate and spicy aromas on the nose. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate with a mouthful of dark berry, dried cherry, raisins, chocolate, spice and savoury herb flavours balanced with food-friendly acidity. Tannins are firm. Decant two hours prior to pouring it with a Bistecca Florentine. Produced from organically-grown Croatina, Corvina, Rondinella wine grapes.
Vinification:
The family owns 35 hectares and produces 400,000 of organic fine wines.
